De Smet wins Canal+ award in Clermont-Ferrand
De Smet strikes again: during the film festival of Clermont-Ferrand (30 January – 7 February 2015), the most prestigious short film festival in the world, the Smet has won the Canal+ award. The film, which was realized in the context of the Masterplan Filmtalent Limburg, has previously won two other awards in leuven (Belgium).
The Canal+ award consists of acquisition and distribution of the film by Canal+ in France and Spain. That means that the film will be available to many French and Spanish inhabitants. In addition, De Smet has already been selected to dozens of film festivals world wide. The Masterplan shows with these successes that Euregional investments in talent leads to concrete results in the film industry, which reach a large international audience.
