Masterplan Filmtalent Limburg in brief
Each year, the Masterplan Filmtalent realises three films and provides a group of young talents from Limburg the opportunity to make a professional short film. As such, the participants have the opportunity to experience the entire production process from start to finish. In addition, they are supervised by experienced professionals from the Euregio and the Randstad.
The films are shot in and around Limburg. The Masterplan is also rooted in the region through its links with local training programs in the arts, municipalities, and cultural institutions. The collaboration with professionals from the Randstad and Belgium ensures that the talents can optimally develop.
The Masterplan Filmtalent was initiated by Stichting Lumière Filmtheater and director/producer Elbe Stevens. To select the talents, they are assisted by a number of art and film training courses from the area, and the Cinesud platform for (prospective) media professionals. These courses are: Communication and Media Design and ABK Visual Communication at Zuyd University, Maastricht Theatre Academy, Arcus College Heerlen, and the Media, Arts & Design Academy in Genk.
Most of the selected talents have a background in one of these institutions.
